Issue: AutoIMS sftp server SSH fingerprint issue, now resolved
Cause: On Thursday 1/23/2025 at approximately 9:45pm EST, AutoIMS upgraded one of our sftp servers. We run multiple sftp servers behind “sftp.autoims.com” (some clients may use “sftp9.autoims.com”). Normally, all servers return the same host key. Our upgrade unexpectedly caused the upgraded server to present a new host-key. Some clients are configured to require manual intervention when a host key changes, so some AutoIMS customer jobs stopped or experienced intermittent failures.
Resolution: Once the issue was discovered, AutoIMS removed the affected server from service, configured the upgraded server to return the expected host key, and then returned the server to normal operation. Now “sftp.autoims.com” should return the same host key it was previously returning, regardless of what underlying server a customer reaches.
